Enter the name of the character. If you have trouble thinking of one, consider consulting a baby name website. Do not include numbers or non-alphabetic characters in the name. You can use spaces but remember that there are spaces provided for a character's last name and title. When you are finished, the left hand side of your screen will refresh and you will see your new character, as below:

If you decide you don't like the name you've chosen, you can delete the handle or, if you want to enter the game to ask questions or look around, click "Enter Game". If you've not yet made your character, you will not be able to move beyond the starting location, called "the cradle of civilization".

Now, at this point, you've only created the character's name, not the character itself. To do that, you need to click on "Make Character".
