Once your character is submitted, he or she is nearly ready to be played. But first, you will need to familiarize yourself to the gaming environment.

On the left hand side of your screen you will see the main interface. The top row consists of: the world monitor, which shows the last 20 Characters or GMs in the game as well as their locations; your character sheet where you may see your current statistics; your character details, where you can edit your character's personality and description; and the wikipedia, which details the rules and the game world. The spell list feature is not operable at this time and may be ignored.

Below that you will see the post to box. This box shows the characters and GMs currently in the room with you. To refresh this box, you will need to click the refresh button at the bottom of this frame. When 'all' is selected, your post will be seen by everyone in the room. To whisper to a character, click on their name before posting. Your post will then only be seen by the person you whisper to. You may whisper to more than one person at a time by using shift + click.

To refresh the right side of your screen, or to show the posts in the room you are in, you may blank post. This is simply hitting the post button without typing anything. When you first log in this may be necessary.

All posts are typed in the large box. The default setting is for speech, which appears in a normal type face. If you enclose your words with brackets [], the type will be bolded and will be considered your character's action. Type enclosed with curly brackets {} will appears in italics and be considered a character's thoughts. To post, click the post button. The clear button clears what has been typed. The back button retrieves the last post and the spellcheck searches for typos. A clearly written post enhances the game experience for everyone. HTML may also be used for further formatting.

The last row of our picture deals with dice. To roll dice, as you may be asked to do occasionally, select the number of dice (usually one or two) and click post. The most common die used is a 1d100. A GM will let you know if you need to change it to something else or if you need to add a modifier. To add a modifier, type + or - with the desired number.
